The Story
PUMPA is a tribute to Len Pumpa and the pioneering Eden Valley vignerons who remained steadfast through the challenges of the region's early viticultural history. When many walked away, settlers like Pumpa persisted—leaving behind vineyard resources we continue to steward today. This wine honours that perseverance with a classic Eden Valley Cabernet Shiraz blend.
Viticulture & Winemaking
Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from two Eden Valley sites: 27-year-old vines in the Central sub-region and 35-year-old vines in Angaston. Shiraz was grown on 30-year-old vines in Moculta. Each block was individually hand-harvested, destemmed and fermented in small 1 and 2 tonne open fermenters with a combination of hand plunging and pump-overs. A short 5-day skin maceration followed pressing. The wine was matured in a mix of new and seasoned oak hogsheads for 12 months before blending. Bottled without finings or filtration.
Cellaring Potential
Optimum drinking from 2030.
