Tasting Note
The aim of Plexus is to express a wide spectrum of fruit flavours, whilst ensuring seamless integration of the contrasting characters of the three varietals. Shiraz provides rich dark fruits and mid palate weight, whilst Grenache delivers a bright flavour spectrum of red fruits and spiced notes. Old vine Mourvèdre is integral to the blend, ensuring a good firm backbone of savoury tannin and a long finish.

The Real Review
Quite striking in the glass, vibrant crimson-red with cherry-red edges. A spicy, subdued nose of ironstone and red licorice, oak-char and cinnamon. Fruit emerges on the palate, though there's nothing sweet about it. Red berries peel off a tightly-wound core of spice and soft tannin. Understated and classy - a pinot-esque elegance to it. Beautiful wine.

Halliday Wine Companion
A very satisfying combo with no variety fighting for the lead. Expect a melody of red fruits lightly spiced with a fleck of herbs for good measure and meaty-stock flavours, too. The savoury and shapely tannins in tune with the more medium-weighted palate. Finishes fresh and buoyant. A ripper drink

Wine Spectator
Striking, with dark, compact notes of huckleberry, wild blackberry, blueberry and espresso that are fragrant, pure and generous. Velvety tannins and details of cigar box, gunpowder tea, freshly cracked black pepper and spice go on and on. Epic finish. Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre

Vinous
Saturated, deep-rimmed ruby. Expressive, smoke-tinged cherry and blueberry aromas are complemented by exotic spice, floral and liquorice flourishes. Sappy. Penetrating and seamless in texture, offering pliant red and blue fruit. Spice cake and candied violet flavours that become firmer through the mid-palate. Finishes with impressive, spicy persistence and with polished tannins adding supple grip.
