“Sourced from a patch of 400 vines, planted in 1881 in Hallett Valley, wild-yeast fermented, matured in French oak (50% new). Aromas of deep spice notes sheathing super-ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum fruits along with hints of licorice, dark chocolate, espresso, and vanillin oak. Rich and mouth-filling, with impressive fruit weight and purity. Gorgeous tannins fade back into the fruit, providing ample support and a finish that lingers admirably. A very impressive, textural wine that shows grace and power in equal measure.”
