Integro by John Duval Wines is a special Barossa wine. Its conceptual origins are traceable to John’s career at Penfolds and the Special Bin wines he made and enjoyed. Sourced from some of South Australia's greatest vineyards, the most memorable from John's personal perspective are the Barossa Valley cabernet sauvignons made from the famous Block 42 vineyard at Kalimna.
Since establishing his own wine project in 2003, John has always had in mind to produce a cabernet shiraz blend as his family’s contribution to the proud Australian tradition of blending these two varieties. An age-worthy wine that would reward extended cellaring, allowing its journey of evolution to be enjoyed over many years. A wine from special Barossa vineyards, and produced only when the right vintage conditions prevailed.
That wine is named Integro, from the Latin word meaning to integrate or make whole.
Following the debut wine from the 2017 vintage, we now make available the second-release wine from the much-lauded 2018 vintage. A blend of 92% cabernet sauvignon from an ancient Eden Valley vineyard, and 8% shiraz from old Barossa Valley vineyards. Unsurprisingly the wine has already met with considerable praise from leading Australia's wine reviewers Halliday's Wine Companion (97 points) and The Vintage Journal (98 points)
