2019 Spinifex Moppa Shiraz
In the extreme northwest corner of the Barossa Valley is a small, old vineyard planting of Shiraz, Grenache, and Mataro. It's around 60 to 70 years of age now and has been managed organically for the last 40.
Handpicked and fermented as two parcels - one with 30% whole clusters in wood and the balance in stainless steel. Each parcel was kept separate for 20 months prior to racking 20% new oak. Only French oak has been utilised.
A bright young wine right now, but expect this to cellar magnificently. This is only the fourth time this block has been released as a single vineyard wine since 2005.
