Let's get into the details:
Barossa Reds Defined $540 reduced to $459
  • John Duval Wines Entity Shiraz 2021 –  John Duval, a winemaking maestro, crafts this wine with a nod to tradition and innovation. It's a continuation of the journey to create RWT - old vine Barossa Shiraz in new Frech oak hogsheads - contrary to the established winery convention of blending Shiraz from multiple regions and maturation in American oak. 96 points, Huon Hooke - "Drink now and for at least 20 years"
  • Hobbs of Barossa Ranges Tango Shiraz Viognier 2021 – Firstly, a nod to the Côte-Rôtie, this blend showcases Shiraz's power harmonized with the elegance of Viognier. Secondly, it's a bold yet beautifully balanced performance in your glass. 95 points, Patrick Eckel - "Drink 2022 - 2035"
  • Sons of Eden Remus Shiraz 2020 – A true exploration of the Barossa uncovers the elegance and purity of Eden Valley Shiraz. Corey Ryan's winemaking is innovative, with his ferments - especially for this wine - at the cooler end of the spectrum than many. Remus is structured, layered, and deeply complex. Platinum, 97 points, Decanter World Wine Awards 2023. Corey suggests "optimum drinking year 2032."
  • Chaffey Bros Wine Co ELIJAH* Shiraz 2020 – The third release from the famed Fechner vineyard; this is another outstanding example of why we should all be watching Eden Valley Shiraz. This wine is a symphony of the senses, offering a nuanced and textured experience. Gold, Barossa Wine Show & Gold, Syrah du Monde, France.
  • Purple Hands Planta Circa Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 – Museum release of the first ever Planta Circa. Sourced from potentially one of the world's oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, hence the name "Planted Around" 1880 - 1890. This wine is a rare gem and is currently on pour at Artisans of Barossa from enomatic. 97 points, James Halliday. Drinking superbly today, it will last another five years, at least.
  • John Duval Annexus Grenache 2022 – A singular expression from a single vineyard, this Grenache is a vibrant interpretation of the varietal, showcasing the versatility and finesse of John and Tim Duval's winemaking skills. Sourced from a single 160+ year old ancestor vineyard in Eden Valley. Only 300 cases were made. John calls this a "standout season", and approaching his 51st vintage; this is high praise.
