Schwarz Grenache Pack
The Thiele Road vineyard in the Barossa Valley’s first settlement of Bethany was planted in 1941 by Jason Schwarz’s parents. For Jason, studies in wine marketing evolved into travels through European vineyards, America and working in South Africa and then worked Barossa wineries and vineyards from 1998. In 2001 a granted request from his parents to buy fruit from family vineyards was the catalyst for a career and it’s fitting that the Thiele Road vineyard is now a cornerstones of his handcrafted wines.
The 2021 release from this beautiful vineyard comes after two successive years of drought, A water table replenished after significant winter and spring rain during 2020 granted a perfect setup to vintage 2021. This year's grenache is abundant with red cherry, stewed rhubarb and bakery spice aromas. Morello cherries continue on the pallet and drift through to clove and allspice. Persistence in flavour asserts this wine’s credentials as an exceptional example of Barossa Valley Grenache.
Working with Grenache for Jason is a clear favourite. In this set, we include two bottles each of 2021 Meta Grenache - a bright and vibrant wine. Also, two bottles of the recently released Grower Grenache - a tribute to the families Jason works with to produce his handcrafted wines.
