The Perfect Winter Dozen

June 1 should be called 'International Load Up the Cellar with Barossa Red Day'. For most of this glorious big brown land is about to spend a period of time cold and wet and becoming increasingly green. The best place to be is inside, with a glass of generously proportioned Barossa red wine close to hand.

We've selected 4 warming reds, three bottles of each in a mixed dozen for just $239 including delivery. A saving of 33%, and at less than $20 a bottle just the ticket for shoring up the house stores with plentiful supply!

Each of these wines is just the ticket for cold, wet and wintry nights. Deep in colour, rich in flavour, virtually impossible to stop at a single glass. ('Tis the season for indulgence after all!). All great partners for classic winter dishes such as slow braised beef casseroles, rich pasta dishes and all the wondrous things you can make with plant based foods! (My favourite is Ottolenghi's pearl barley rissotto.) A good cheese platter will also work a treat.

Each dozen contains 3 bottles each of the following delicious Barossa reds:

  • Artisans of Barossa Small Batch Graciano 2018 ($35) - 94 points, Gary Walsh - Wine Front
  • Chaffey Bros. Synonomous Barossa Shiraz 2019 ($28) - 91 points, Campbell Mattinson - Wine Front
  • Lienert Vineyards 'Tierra del Puerco' Malbec 2020 ($28) - 93 points, Sam Kim - Wine Orbit
  • Artisans of Barossa Barrel Blend Shiraz 2020 ($28)
