Essen, by Artisans of Barossa, located within the award-winning cellar door in the heart of Barossa Valley, is quickly becoming a beacon for those who cherish the fusion of culinary innovation and the art of winemaking. This autumn, Essen introduces a refreshed menu alongside exciting changes that underscore our commitment to offering an unparalleled dining experience.

The concept of 'essen', translating to 'to feast' in German, is beautifully adopted by us to describe our approach to enjoying food and wine. This philosophy is about more than just dining; it's about sharing everything that is good and beautiful in our special part of the world, be it in a glass or on a plate, with friends and guests. It's an approach that has won the hearts of those who have dined there and earned Essen significant accolades in the past year, solidifying its status as a premier culinary destination.

This season, Essen is excited to launch a new menu that brings the autumnal beauty of Barossa to the forefront. Lunch service, available from 11 am to 4 pm, offers flexibility with an à la carte option from Wednesday to Friday and a more structured two-courses+ menu over the weekend.

Introducing 'Signature Essen' menus is a highlight, offering two distinct culinary journeys. At $90 per person, the Discovery menu provides a three-course meal with Chef's snacks and your selection of entrees and main course. The new 'Chef's menu', priced at $110 per person, offers a five-course exploration for a further journey of innovative and contemporary Barossa cuisine. Both experiences can be enhanced with wine pairings, selected from an extensive list of 40 wines available for tasting in our Wine Room, by the glass, or in flights.

The ambience of Essen, with autumn seating indoors and on the terrace, complements our new offerings, creating a setting that perfectly matches this dynamic season of harvest and winemaking. It's an experience that captivates the palate and the senses, surrounded on three sides by the stunning vistas of Barossa Valley.

The recent accolades received by Essen are a testament to its dedication to culinary excellence and innovation. These awards have helped to spotlight Essen as a dining venue that consistently exceeds expectations, offering guests a unique blend of local flavours, exceptional wines, and an inviting atmosphere. It's a recognition that encourages diners to make reservations in advance to secure a table during this busy season, which includes March, Easter Holidays, Gather Round, LIV Golf, and School Holidays.
