Released: Our first 'Small Batch' vintage Blanc de Blanc

Embracing the spirit of celebration and artisinal winemaking, we are thrilled to unveil the inaugural release of Artisans of Barossa ‘Small Batch’ Blanc de Blanc from the exceptional 2021 vintage. This sparkling wine, crafted in the time-honoured traditional method, is a true testament to the artistry of our Artisans, joining our recently released ‘Small Batch’ Chardonnay and our well-known Riesling and Graciano.

In the heart of the elevated and cool climate of Eden Valley, where sun-drenched, east-facing vineyards bask in gentle breezes, lies the essence of this Blanc de Blanc. A meticulous blend of majority Chardonnay and delicate hints of Riesling, sourced from select parcels, captures the heart of this picturesque region. These grapes, hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, embody the purity and character that define our wines.

Winemaking:

Hand-picking and whole bunch pressing are vital winemaking decisions that shape the quality and character of exceptional wines. With care and precision, hand-picking ensures the selection of only the finest, ripest grapes, resulting in pure and expressive flavours. Whole bunch pressing captures the essence of the grapes, unveiling nuanced aromas and refined structures. These artisanal practices elevate wines to new heights, reflecting the dedication and pursuit of perfection in winemaking.

Handcrafted with unwavering dedication and passion, this limited-release Blanc de Blanc showcases the meticulous attention to detail that defines our Artisans. With limited quantities available, each bottle is a testament to a pursuit of excellence and the desire to create something truly extraordinary.

After one year of maturation on the lees, this Blanc de Blanc has blossomed into a symphony of flavours and textures. The extended contact on its lees has added a captivating complexity and a rich aroma tapestry, unveiling the wine’s true potential.

With a commitment to purity and authenticity, no dosage has been added, allowing the wine’s natural beauty to shine through. The wine was topped with a tiny amount of barrel-aged Riesling after disgorgement. Each sip reveals the precision and balance that defines this remarkable cuvée, showcasing the terroir and the delicate flavours that Eden Valley bestows upon its grapes.
