Aromatically lusty and layered with loads of fresh red fruits and exotic dark spices. In the mouth, the wine is supple and juicy, without being heavy or overbearing. I like it a lot. It manages silk and weightlessness, not something I thought I'd ever write about this varietal mix—and certainly not from Barossa. Yet here we are. This is a lovely wine.

Bright yet deep-set satsuma plum, red cherry and blackberry fruits with underlying hints of baking spices, sage, dark chocolate, bay leaf, panforte, rose petals and earth. Impressive fruit depth and flow with a rich wash of cherry and spice, fine-ground-stone tannins and some nice sustain on the finish.

A dark magenta colour here, with a nose giving us notes of spices, black cherries, dried herbs, blackberries, cold tea and licorice. There is depth and concentration here, along with serious intensity which rides the journey for the full length. Attractive now but expect improvement over the next few years and then a wine which provides pleasure for the following ten to twelve years.
