Tasting Note

Bright, deep garnet in the glass. The nose is delicate and perfumed, with ripe raspberry, cherry, red currant, rose petal, spice, and discrete white pepper and musk notes. The palate is youthful and mid-weight, with strong red currant, spice and red plum skin flavours. Plum skin acids and fine sandy tannins shape the finish. Polished, classically proportioned, and elegantly juvenile.

Viticulture & Winemaking

The 2022 growing season was mild and long, with no extreme heat spikes or heavy rainfall. It was a cooler year than average, supported by strong data and a sense of seasonal freshness. Good winter and spring rains delivered balanced subsoil moisture, and the frost and hail events that challenged previous vintages were absent. Barossa and Eden Valley wines from this year show purity and clarity of fruit, modest palate weights, and lithe, finely structured tannins - a truly delightful vintage.
