Celebrate International Grenache Day At Artisans Of Barossa
International Grenache Day might officially fall on Friday 18 September, but at Artisans of Barossa, we’re giving this variety a little more time in the spotlight.
Across selected dates in September, join us for a dedicated Grenache tasting experience featuring six wines from our collective of small-batch, family-owned winemakers, including two museum releases.
Available to book on 17, 18, 19, 20 and 23 September, guests can choose between two Grenache experiences.
$30 Grenache Tasting
Taste your way through six expressions of Barossa Grenache, exploring different vineyards, winemaking styles and vintages from across the Artisans of Barossa collective.
The tasting includes:
- John Duval Wines 2024 Annexus Grenache
- Schwarz Wine Co. 2024 Thiele Road Grenache
- Lienert Vineyards 2021 Estate Grenache – Museum Release
- Sons of Eden 2023 Notus Grenache
- Chaffey Bros. Wine Co. 2024 Pax Aeterna Grenache
- Purple Hands 2019 Planta Circa Grenache – Museum Release
From vibrant, bright-fruited styles through to more savoury and structured expressions, the line-up offers a snapshot of the diversity Grenache can achieve across the Barossa.
$60 Grenache Tasting With Paired Appetisers
Take the experience further with the same six-wine Grenache tasting, accompanied by a series of appetiser pairings created to complement the wines.
Rather than treating the wine and food separately, the experience is designed to explore how Grenache’s fruit, spice, savoury characters and fine tannins interact with food.
Please note: dietary modifications for the paired appetisers are limited to gluten-free and dairy-free options only.
A Closer Look At Barossa Grenache
Grenache has a long history in the Barossa, including some of the region’s oldest surviving vines. Once commonly destined for fortified wine production and blends, the variety has become increasingly recognised in its own right, with winemakers showcasing its fragrance, freshness, spice and ability to express individual vineyard sites.
This tasting brings together six different interpretations from the Artisans of Barossa collective, with the museum releases offering the opportunity to see how the variety develops with additional bottle age.
Book Your Grenache Experience
