Chaffey Bros. Wine Co. LUX VENIT* Rosé 2023

$35.00

Tasting Note

Crafted from old vine Grenache and Mourvèdre grown in the Lyndoch foothills, this wild-fermented rosé offers bright cherry and berry aromas, followed by a plush palate of peaches and cream with a hint of savoury spice. A short stint in French oak adds texture and indulgent creaminess to the finish. Unfined, unfiltered and vegan friendly.

Mid peachy salmon pink. Extremely floral nose. Off dry and, as a fellow taster put it, ‘banging’. Pure pleasure with lots of flavour. This Rosé shows just how good this variety is as a pink wine.

Serious Rosé from old-vine Barossa Valley Grenache and Mourvèdre. Pale salmon in colour. Nose full of strawberries and cream, roasted nuts, cherry blossom and compote, stone fruit slices and cinnamon. Fleshy and full: generous rolls of flesh with fine focus and length. Bittersweet citrus and stone fruit edged with spice. Finishes bone dry with a good texture."

The Real Review

Sandalwood, red apple and cranberry aromas lure you in. The palate is plush, offering breadth and intense flavours of red berries. It offers dimension and intensity, and has an extra layer compared to other rosés. It's a delicious wine with layers of complexity.

The Story

After over a decade of making Barossa rosé, 2019 marked a turning point. That year, the team set aside their best parcel of fruit to create something more opulent—a richer, more layered style that’s become a seasonal favourite ever since. Only 493 dozen made.
