Tasting Note

For 10 years Chaffey Bros has been on a quest to make the perfect Barossa GSM... and in 2023 they nailed it. Old Vine Grenache leads the charge, bringing depth and generosity to this classic Barossa blend. Syrah adds elegance, Mourvèdre brings spice, and nine months in seasoned French oak hogsheads (3–8 years old) layers in savoury grip and mineral complexity. Expect deep-fruited dark cherry and strawberry on a graphite-tinged palate, carried by fine-grain tannins and refreshing acidity through to a lingering finish. Juicy, balanced, and seriously drinkable.

A bold reimagining of the traditional blend, this wine pays homage to the gnarly old French varieties of the Barossa, fighting off the bland and forgettable with flavour, structure and purpose.
