Tasting Note

Bright crimson in colour, with intense violet and dark cherry aromas. The palate displays vibrant blackberry flavours with a fleshy and rounded mouthfeel and finishes with a youthful freshness. Approachable now, this wine will continue to gain complexity as it matures.

The Story

PUMPA is a tribute to Len Pumpa and the pioneering Eden Valley vignerons who remained steadfast through the challenges of the region's early viticultural history. When many walked away, settlers like Pumpa persisted—leaving behind vineyard resources we continue to steward today. This wine honours that perseverance with a classic Eden Valley Cabernet Shiraz blend.

Viticulture & Winemaking

The Cabernet blocks were individually hand-harvested, destemmed and fermented in small 1 and 2 tonne open-fermenters. A combination of hand plunging and pumping-over cap management techniques were employed throughout the fermentation period. A short post ferment skin-maceration occurred for 6 days before being pressed off and matured in a mix of new and seasoned oak hogsheads. Matured for 12 months prior to being blended, naturally clarified and bottled without finings or filtration.
