The 2023 Schwarz Meta Grenache Blanc isn’t just rare in the Barossa — it’s exceptional. Awarded the Trophy for Best White Other Varietal at the 2024 Barossa Wine Show, Top Gold and 96 points, this wine is a standout example of how alternative varieties can thrive in our region.

Sourced from Schwarz Vineyards in Bethany, this hand-picked and wild-fermented Grenache Blanc was crafted with minimal intervention, allowing purity of fruit and layered complexity to shine. Expect aromas of white florals, dried sage, and citrus zest, leading into a palate of tangy grapefruit, poached pear, and rich clotted cream, underpinned by delicate minerality and almond-infused marzipan on the finish. 

Aged in seasoned French oak with regular lees stirring, this limited-production wine (just 216 dozen made) has an intense yet refined texture, with drive, freshness, and a long, structured finish. 

A true expression of site and season, best paired with rainbow chard cob loaf or anything fresh from the garden.
