$465.00

Limited Stock Available

A rare vertical direct from our museum collection, featuring three consecutive vintages of Hobbs of Barossa Tango Shiraz – 2017, 2018 and 2019. A special opportunity to experience the evolution of this powerful, small-batch Shiraz Viognier over time.

Tango Shiraz Viognier 2017

Deepish colour with a slight tinge of purple. The bouquet is earthy and prune-like, with a patina of charred barrel oak, and starting to show some development. A full-bodied and quite gripping red with oaky-tasting tannins

Tango Shiraz Viognier 2018

Impressive depth of full purple hue. Meaty, leathery and charcuterie, boasting a dense core of black fruits.

Tango Shiraz Viognier 2019

Halliday Wine Companion

It's a whopper! In fruit purity and concentration, texture and alcohol content. It's a sitting-down style of wine. For all it's over-the-top-ness, there's a lot of impressive concentration and heft....and yes, some alcohol heat on the finish. It's flexing.

Winemaking

Hobbs’ magnificent block of Shiraz and Viognier are hand picked and co-fermented with their own naturally occurring yeasts. The Viognier grapes are late picked, left on the vine to intensify their flavour compounds which add to the complexity of the wine. Matured in new French oak for 24 months.
