Tasting Note
Deep crimson in colour, with an alluring mix of black currants, violets and spiced-cedar aromas. The well-structured and focused palate displays richness and complexity. A wine with excellent ‘bones’ which will mature gracefully for many years to come.
Made only in exceptional vintages, this wine is a tribute to Eurus—the Greek God of the East Wind. It is crafted when Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon reaches a level of purity and power that demands to be bottled alone. Morning and evening gully breezes bring a cool, easterly influence, gently slowing ripening and enhancing the wine’s varietal precision and finesse.

It’s wonderfully opulent while retaining varietal purity, showing cassis, brown spice and tobacco characters with a lovely oak infusion. Harmonious and complex with a prolonged, satisfying finish.

There’s a graceful plume of fruit on the palate, which is spicy and herb-flecked with fine, sandy tannin support and a medium-length finish with a touch of red cherry flowing in on the exit.

Black currants, wild berries, crushed herbs, dried currant leaves, cedar and raw coffee beans on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied, with mellow dark fruit and minty, spicy notes. Tannins are creamy and supple with a velvety-textured finish.

Winemaking
This wine is from the vintage’s best Cabernet Sauvignon barrels and in 2022 was produced from predominantly the Cranes Range and Long Gully vineyards within Eden Valley.
The fruit was handpicked and 100% de-stemmed into an open top fermenter, where it remained for 18 days. Naturally fermented and hand plunged daily then pressed to a mix of new and seasoned French oak hogsheads for maturation. Matured in barrel for 15 months with no racking, before being clarified and bottled without filtration.
