Men’s Health Week is a vital event that takes place every year in June, with the aim of raising awareness about men’s health issues and encouraging men to take proactive steps to improve their well-being. In support of this essential cause, we here at Artisans of Barossa are hosting an unforgettable evening at our home to raise awareness for Prostate and Testicular Cancer.
Why is Men’s Health Week Important?
Men’s health is an issue that is often overlooked or ignored, but it is crucial that we raise awareness and encourage men to take care of themselves. Men are often less likely to seek medical help when they have health problems, which can lead to more serious health issues down the road.
Men’s Health Week aims to address this by encouraging men to take proactive steps to improve their health, such as getting regular check-ups, eating a healthy diet, and exercising regularly. By supporting Men’s Health Week and events like the Artisans of Barossa fundraiser, we can help raise awareness about men’s health and encourage men to take action to improve their well-being.
Event Details:
The event promises to be an evening of great wine, food, and knowledge, with a range of exciting activities and attractions. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a glass of wine, setting the tone for a memorable evening ahead with a three-course dinner.
Our guest speakers for the evening, Dr Fraser Vivian and Dr Matthew Teague, are both local doctors who will provide informative talks on Prostate, Testicular, and Skin Cancer. This is a great opportunity to learn more about these essential health issues and raise awareness in the community.
Throughout the evening, you will have the chance to purchase additional drinks, buy tickets for the raffle prizes and participate in our wine bag lottery. We also have a local lad, Owen Agnew, who will be shaving his Ned Kelly beard and moustache off if we raise $3,000 or more in support of Prostate and Testicular Cancer. These donations can be made via his Go Fund Me page.
The event will be hosted by the locally renowned doctor, Bill Geyer, who will act as our wonderful M.C. for the night. Bill Geyer has recently been awarded the Variety Tom Matters Award and the award for 15 years of service at SA Variety Bash.
Money raised from this event will go towards supporting Prostate and Testicular Cancer, so not only will you be enjoying a wonderful evening, but you'll also be making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by these cancers.
