Harvested: Grenache Project 2023

We’ve started our first Artisans of Barossa Grenache Project from the Ebenezer sub-region. Located at the northern end of the Barossa Valley, at an elevation of 290 metres, with a slight S.E. aspect (132°) and a gentle slope of 1.53° [2.68%], the vineyard has sand and over clay soils, typical of Ebenezer. The rows are north / south orientated, which perfectly, side on, capture the morning sun rising over the Barossa Ranges and the setting sun from the western ridge of the Valley.
The story & history behind: The ancestor vines of Planta Circa

The story & history behind: The ancestor vines of Planta Circa

These ancestor vines (equal to or over 125 years of age) inspire the Planta Circa label – literally “planted around the region of” as the exact date of the plantings remains a mystery. Purple Hands believe the cabernet vines are some of the oldest on their roots, still producing fruit today.

The Planta Circa cabernet was first released from the 2013 vintage and received a 97-point rating from James Halliday, which ranked it amongst the top Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the 2016 Halliday Wine Companion.

“This is pure and simple cabernet, elegant, long and finely structured. A great cabernet vintage for this great vineyard.”

James Halliday, published 18 June 2021

Introducing the latest release from Hobbs of Barossa Ranges; Behr Creek

Introducing the latest release from Hobbs of Barossa Ranges; Behr Creek

Allison and Greg Hobbs have an exceptional connection to their vineyards. Over the years of being custodians of these vineyards in the Barossa Ranges, they’ve sought to understand the history of their property where the oldest vines date back to 1905. It’s here we see the inspiration for their stunning new ‘Behr Creek’ label, which we are proud to announce; is ready for your enjoyment.

Spinifex Luxe - Best Rosé in the Annual Halliday Companion 2023

Congratulations, Artisan Producer, Spinifex Wines! Awarded the highly-esteemed award of Best Rosé in the 2023 Halliday Wine Companion Awards.

Rosé is a style of tremendous importance to Spinifex. Their craft is incredibly reminiscent of Provencal-inspired wines and Dave Brookes, of the Halliday Companion agrees, "the Luxe is a tip of the hat to the rosé styles of the Mediterranean."
