Freya; the foremost goddess of ancient Germanic lands where the Riesling grape originated. This dual vineyard wine honours early German settlers who cultivated the Riesling vine in the exemplary micro-climate of South Australia's Eden Valley.
This is the eleventh vintage of Freya, and we are proud to be the exclusive retailer of this wine. It is an exceptional example of Eden Valley Riesling with the beginnings of bottle age yet still maintaining amazing freshness and primary character.

Whole bunch pressed with only the finest pressings being retained. The juice was settled cold and racked clear to begin fermentation. Fermented cool at 12-14ºC for nearly three weeks before going to dryness. To help build palate texture, the wine was held on yeast lees for a further two months before being bottled and matured. This extended maturation brings an extra dimension of finesse and balance to the wines, achieving the ultimate expression of Sons of Eden's prized Eden Valley vineyard sites.
A bouquet of Elderflower and Lavender surrounded by hallmark Eden Valley fresh lemon and limes. A zesty palate with apple and citrus flavours, finishing with a bright, crunchy acidity.
Enjoy now until 2030.

These museum release wines are a very good thing indeed, here we have a 2016 Eden Valley riesling that has begun to take on the beloved toasty complexity of aged rieslings yet still retains the juicy lime and floral flecked intensity of fruit that comes from the region. Long, pure and true, it's drinking wonderfully now – no need to lay it down, just splash it around in the glasses of those that matter to you.
