2020 Colours of the South Rosso
Description: A blend of three Italian varietals, Negro Amaro, Montepulciano & Aglianico. Aromas of red berry, florals, herbs, orange peel and sweet spice resembling red wine-based vermouth. Our intention was to create food friendly fruit driven wine with texture that displays savoury notes that these Italian varietals deliver. Something a little different from the Barossa.
Grape Variety: Negro Amaro, Montepulciano, Aglianico
Region: Barossa Valley
Reviews & Awards:
- 93 Points, Mike Bennie Montepulciano, Negroamaro and Aglianico is the quixotic blend here – the sum of the parts presents as a distinctly Italianate red wine with fine, firm tannins, bright cherry-like acidity and a sense of dried herbs piquancy in the medium weight slosh of cherry-berry fruit characters. A really engaging drink. Clever stuff.
