Schwarz Wine Co. The Schiller Shiraz Magnum 1.5L 2013

$315.00

Tasting Note

Inky and impenetrable in the glass, the 2021 Schiller Shiraz opens with lifted aromas of stewed plum, mulberry, dark chocolate and sweet spice. The palate is dense and brooding, with layers of fleshy dark fruits, graphite, cedar, and panforte wrapped in nutmeg oak and a hint of licorice. Bright acidity and firm tannins bring balance to the richness, delivering a wine with serious structure, poise, and impressive torque. A bold yet composed expression of old vine Barossa Shiraz.

Made from 400 shiraz vines planted by Carl August Otto Schiller in the 1880s. It's Barossa shiraz in all its glory. Ripe, blackberried, aniseed fruit meets smoke, iced coffee and ground spice. It has more than a little 'come hither' about it yet it's also sophisticated and complex. In short, it's a slashing wine.
