Delikatessen is open 7 days, from 10am - 4pm.

We close at 5pm.


Artisans of Barossa is excited to release lunch reservations in Essen for seven days through December 2022 and early January 2023.

Our weekend reservations in December were already very popular, so expanding our Essen summer à la carte menu to seven days makes sense. 

We’ve worked hard behind the scenes with farmers and growers to ensure a supply of local ingredients over the next eight weeks, and we’re excited to be offering this menu to all visitors to the Barossa, any day.”

The menu comprises recent favourites, such as our Gumshire Farm pork belly, salad options, and our new tempura Spencer Gulf Prawns dish with accompanying pickled kohlrabi, dill, lemon and caper. Shared options, such as our in-house made duck liver parfait and charcuterie & cheese plate, are also available. The ever-popular Rueben sandwich maintains its feature place on the menu.

Lunch service is 12 pm - 3 pm. With a more limited option available from 11 am for early diners, with the kitchen not closing until 4 pm for those needing late afternoon dining. 

We built our home in the Barossa as a place where we could share everything we love about the Barossa with you.

Essen presents a contemporary, innovative interpretation of seasonal Barossa food with an à la carte spring menu. Essen is a beautiful word meaning ‘to eat’. At Artisans, we have adopted ‘essen’ to describe how we approach the enjoyment of food. With wine. It is a way of sharing everything excellent and beautiful in our unique part of the world, whether in a glass or on a plate, with our friends and guests.
