A bright savoury blend of 53/28/19% Marananga marsanne/Kalimna roussanne/Eden Valley viognier. Citrus, stone fruits and poached pear with hints of crème fraîche, meadow flowers, crushed stone, slivered almonds, ginger spice and ozone. There's a light ache of umami and the twang of brine as the wine sails across the palate, the fruit and acidity showing an appealing tension. There is no doubting it's slinky drinking appeal.

Perfumed and vibrant aromas of orange blossoms, lemon balm and Asian pears. The palate is medium-bodied with a textured mouthfeel and focused acidity, giving notes of fresh apricots, peaches, nectarines and chalk.

Viticulture & Winemaking

An intricate blend inspired by the Rhône, Plexus White combines 41% Marsanne, 34% Roussanne, and 25% Viognier. Marsanne was sourced from Marananga, Roussanne from Kalimna, and Viognier from Eden Valley.

Gentle pressing and cold settling preceded fermentation, predominantly in stainless steel to retain freshness. A small portion of Marsanne finished fermentation in puncheon. The remaining Marsanne and Roussanne were aged on lees in tank to build mid-palate texture, with 20% of the final blend matured in fine-grain French oak for seven months before bottling.

The Story

Plexus is about weaving together three varieties into a harmonious whole, preserving fruit vibrancy, building structure, and delivering more than simple crispness. Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier are each distinct yet interwoven, creating a Barossa expression that is textured, aromatic and refreshing.
